Holiday with a Hero

Bright Smiles was honoured to be asked again to support Holiday with a Hero! This event helps foster a positive relationship between youth and emergency services personnel. This includes police officers, fire fighters, emergency medics, physicians and park rangers. Young children between the ages of 6-12 are selected each year to shop at our local Wal-Mart to purchase gifts for members of their immediate family and themselves. Each child is given a small amount of money to spend. The children are assigned to a “hero”, who then accompanies them around the store and assists in selecting fitting gifts for each family member. After shopping, the children eat breakfast with Santa, have Elves wrap their gifts, and spend some time having fun with inflatable bouncy castles, face painting and spending time with their “hero”. At the end of the day each child goes home with a gift bag filled with a ham and goodies to enjoy with their family!

A special thank you to Morand Family Dental for helping with oral hygiene supplies for the children participating in this event.

If you’re interested in donating or helping this wonderful cause, there is still time! Check out their website for more information.

Alumni of Distinction

“For 30 years, St. Clair has celebrated exemplary graduates who have been recognized for their groundbreaking achievements in a variety of industries,” says John Feldman, President St. Clair College Alumni Board of Directors. On Saturday night Christine was honoured to receive the Alumni of Distinction award for her achievements in the field of dental hygiene as well as her charity work and mission work over the years. She looks forward to continuing to help make smiles Bright in Chatham-Kent and around the world!

Christine Knights is a passionate and experienced registered dental hygienist with almost 20 years of experience in the field. She is the proud owner of Bright Smiles Community Dental Hygiene in Chatham, where she brings her award-winning proficiency and expertise to every patient she serves.

Christine is no stranger to going above and beyond to pursue her goals. She has dedicated her time to helping underprivileged children and the less fortunate. Her unwavering dedication to charity and community outreach inspired her to travel to Indonesia and the Philippines, where she provided dental care to underprivileged communities. These experiences were life-changing for Christine and inspired her to change her perception of how she delivers dental care in her practice.

In Chatham, Christine has teamed up with the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit and several other local organizations to provide free dental hygiene clinics for people who can’t afford regular dental care. Her initiative “Give Where You Live” has provided tens of thousands of dollars of free treatment to residents, significantly impacting the community.

Christine’s reputation precedes her; in her private practice, many loyal patients request her by name. Her passion for her work is evident in everything she does, and her patients at Bright Smiles Community Dental Hygiene can expect nothing less than exceptional care from her. With her unparalleled enthusiasm and expertise, Christine is a true asset to the dental hygiene profession, and her dedication to her patients and community is truly admirable.
